I hope to post my current sculptures on this page. I often take 4-6 weeks to complete a sculpture, so this is a way of keeping up to date with my latest work.

Sticky Rock #2

This is the second piece in this series, and my concept is vastly different from the first. I start by examining the rock, then consider how to incorporate metal. This piece of granite has a natural shape that allows it to stand upright. I envisioned metal oozing out of it. The taper and crescent shape naturally suggested to me "blobs" of stainless steel dripping to the side rather than the expected vertical drips. The combination of rock and metal creates a quirky aesthetic that aligns perfectly with my concept.
