current work

I hope to post my current sculptures on this page. Some may be complete, others showing work in progress. I often take 4-6 weeks to complete a sculpture, so updates with only completed work will be too infrequent.

Sticky Rock #2

This is the second piece in this series, and my concept is vastly different from the first. I start by examining the rock, then consider how to incorporate metal. This piece of granite has a natural shape that allows it to stand upright. I envisioned metal oozing out of it. The taper and crescent shape naturally suggested to me "blobs" of stainless steel dripping sideways instead of vertically, (which is expected). The combination of rock and metal creates a quirky aesthetic that aligns perfectly with my concept.
