Dog Stencils
I had several requests to fabricate some wall art featuring caricatures of dogs. The greyhounds were cut from supplied artwork. For all the other dogs, I sketched outlines based on photos. All plates are roughly 200mm wide x 300mm high & comprise 2.5mm thick HW350 steel.
This steel is the Australian equivalent of Corten steel. It is designed to rust which then creates a layer that protects the steel from continuing to rust. The patina looks great & is long-lasting.
The stencils were cut by hand using a plasma torch.
An excellent detail is that I made stainless steel spacers to mount the plates. The idea is that any rust from the plate will not stain the mounting surface.
